Spotlight on Pure Arnica Oil and Pure Arnica Salve
August 26, 2024
We take pride in our Pure Arnica products!
We start with the highest quality
Arnica flower on the market, and infuse it into certified organic j
ojoba and
sunflower oils for a minimum of three weeks. The result is a highly effective pain- and inflammation-relieving oil—so useful! Great as a massage oil, full strength, or blended with other oils or scents.
We don't stop there, however! We also offer our handmade
Pure Arnica Salve, with just four simple ingredients: our
Pure Arnica Oil,
shea butter,
coconut oil, and
beeswax. No hidden fragrances, fillers, or artificial colors. While the oil is more concentrated, the salve is non-staining, and readily absorbed into the skin. And both products are certified organic!
Buyers should be aware that many Arnica products on the market are prepared in homeopathic form. Homeopathic medicine is a system developed in late 18th century Germany. It is different from the global traditions of herbal healing. The manufacture of its remedies involves repeated steps of diluting and agitating the original material, often to the point where there may not be a single molecule of that substance remaining in the potion.
Arnica is one of the homeopathic remedies that are used for the same ailments by both herbal and homeopathic practitioners. However, the difference between homeopathic remedies and our Pure Arnica Oil and Pure Arnica Salve is that our products are highly saturated with Arnica’s active compounds.
More about Arnica...Arnica (
Arnica montana, also known as Mountain Daisy or Leopard’s Bane) is a perennial herb in the Asteraceae family, with bright yellow flowers, native to meadows, moors, and heaths in central and northern Europe.
Abundant research supports the longstanding traditional use of Arnica in topical preparations to aid healing of bruises and swelling, ease inflammation, and relieve pain. Meadow Arnica (
A. chamissonis),
A. montana’s North American cousin, is used for identical purposes by Native American herbalists, and is considered interchangeable with the European species.
Arnica flowers contain helenalin and thymol, compounds with anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. Arnica is excellent for topical application, in the form of a salve or infused oil, to help with inflammation, sprains, and bruising. Topical Arnica preparations have been shown to be a safe, effective treatment for joint aches and pains.
Please note, this herb is not for internal use, and should not be used on broken skin.
Summertime softball injuries... twisting an ankle on the trail... slipping on wintertime ice... rear-end collisions... whacking that thumb with the hammer... there are so many reasons, in every season, to keep our Arnica products on hand!
