We are proud to offer a special collection of the highest quality infused oils, salves, bulk organic or wildcrafted herbs, unique tea blends, and other natural healing and body care products.
Our location, in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, affords us close connections with growers and suppliers, in a prime region for herb cultivation as well as global transportation routes.
Being a Certified Organic company, we strive to bring our customers high quality items as simply as we can. Our bulk herbs are no more or less than what old time herbalists used to call "simples"—Nature’s remedies in their purest form. Our salves and infused oils have no added fragrances and have as few ingredients as possible, making our products stand out as “All Natural.”
We look for fresh, high-quality products that we can provide to our customers at affordable prices, and we work with sellers and growers in our own region whenever possible.
By communicating constantly between coworkers, we ensure that our customers are receiving the highest quality care. Keeping the communication honest allows for education to be the first response.
Many people seek herbal medicine to heal, or improve their health, and we strive to be accepting and welcoming to everyone. As a business focused on healing, we seek to be a place of positivity and community.
From our products, to our packaging materials, all the way down to the cleaning supplies in our shop, we use and reuse biodegradable, recyclable and environmentally friendly products. Our business model is committed to supporting the environment and local sustainability.
I’m Emily Mitchell, and I created Em's Herbals out of my love for using plants to help people heal.
I’ve studied medicine and plants for over twenty years, and used plants and supplements to help myself, my family members, and my community. My special interests include natural pregnancy, home birth, cesarean birth and VBAC, postpartum care, and childcare. I’m an advocate for women in all arenas of health care, supporting natural options whenever possible. Another focus for me has been complementary medicine within oncology, helping cancer patients survive their fight while including herbal and nutritional support.
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Botanical Medicine in 2000 from the North American College of Botanical Medicine in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 2002, I started Living Earth Herbs, a retail herb and supplement store in Eugene, Oregon. In 2006, I moved back to my hometown of Bellingham, Washington, relocating the business there. I sold the store in 2008 and went back to school that year to continue studies in science and medicine. Since then, my time has been dedicated to raising my family, using herbs to keep them healthy, and launching Em’s Herbals in 2015.
My training in clinical sciences, holistic medicine modalities, and plant chemistry; my experience in the herb business; my deep roots in the green Pacific Northwest; and my passion for plants in their natural environment—all inspire the unique perspective behind Em’s Herbals.
