Nothing is quite aromatic as the smell of fresh, whole clove buds! Cloves can be used both medicinally and as a spice in cooking. This herb is popular in potpourri, aromatherapy, and fragrance blends due to its sustaining aroma. It is considered a middle note for blending.

Cloves contain eugenol, a plant constituent with pain relieving, or analgesic, properties. Clove oil also exerts strong antioxidant, antibacterial, and antifungal effects, and repels insects. It is an ingredient in many oral health products.

Our essential oils are sold in amber glass bottles with a dropper orifice for drop-by-drop administration. Do not ingest essential oils unless under the guidance of a licensed health care practitioner or experienced aromatherapist. Essential oils should always be diluted in a carrier oil before being applied to the skin. (Some examples of carrier oils: Jojoba, Sunflower, Grapeseed, Rosehip Seed, Castor, and Avocado; gently liquified Coconut Oil, Shea, or Cocoa Butter can also work for creating thicker body care products.) Always test the diluted essential oil on a small patch of skin before applying more widely. 

The maximum strength recommended for topical use of Clove essential oil is 0.5% (3 drops per 4 teaspoons of carrier oil).
