Anise (Pimpinella anisum) Seed, Essential Oil
Anise (Pimpinella anisum) Seed essential oil carries a familiar smell to most, reminiscent of what is traditionally thought of as licorice or fennel. Anise is actually used to flavor black licorice candy available on the US market. Aromatically, this is considered a middle note for blending.
Anise essential oil has an amazing compendium of benefits, including antimicrobial, antifungal, antiviral, antioxidant, antidiabetic, muscle relaxant, and anticonvulsant. It has beneficial effects on the gastrointestinal tract and on dysmenorrhea and menopausal hot flashes, and shows efficacy against morphine dependency.
This oil comes in a round amber glass bottle with a dropper reducer orifice for drop-by-drop administration. It is steam distilled from crops that have not been sprayed with chemicals or pesticides.
As with any essential oil, please dilute prior to direct use on the skin. Do not use internally unless under the care of a licensed health care practitioner or experienced aromatherapist.
