This essential oil, pressed from the peel of the Bergamot fruit, has a light, citrusy, floral scent. Aromatically it is considered a top note for blending.

It is considered deodorant, vulnerary, vermifuge, antibiotic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, sedative, analgesic, antidepressant, disinfectant, febrifuge, cicatrisant, and digestive.

Bergamot essential oil is said to remove body odor, relieve spasms, suppress pain, improve mood and fight depression, heal cuts and scars, and promote efficient digestion.

Our essential oils are sold in amber glass bottles with a dropper orifice for drop-by-drop administration. Do not ingest essential oils unless under the guidance of a licensed health care practitioner or experienced aromatherapist. Essential oils should always be diluted in a carrier oil before being applied to the skin. (Some examples of carrier oils: Jojoba, Sunflower, Grapeseed, Rosehip Seed, Castor, and Avocado; gently liquified Coconut Oil, Shea, or Cocoa Butter can also work for creating thicker body care products.) Always test the diluted essential oil on a small patch of skin before applying more widely.

Maximum recommended dilution 0.5% (one drop per two teaspoons of carrier oil). Use in moderation. May cause photosensitivity; avoid sunlight or tanning for up to 18 hours after applying to exposed skin. Bergamot essential oil is best kept refrigerated, and should not be used when old or spoiled.
