Carrot Seed essential oil is extracted from the plant commonly known as Wild Carrot, or Queen Anne's Lace. Its scent has been described as "dry woody, wet earth, root-like, somewhat sweet, with a tenacious fatty/oily, slightly sweet, spicy dry down."  Aromatically, it is considered a middle note for blending.

Carrot Seed essential oil is a popular choice in face and body care products, and is used in our Red Velvet Lip Balm and Facial Beauty Oil. It is said to have an healing affinity for the face and skin. Historically Carrot Seed has a reputation of being able to ward off unwanted pregnancy, and the essential oil has been a part of this legacy.  

Our essential oils are sold in amber glass bottles with a dropper orifice for drop-by-drop administration. Do not ingest essential oils unless under the guidance of a licensed health care practitioner or experienced aromatherapist. Essential oils should always be diluted in a carrier oil before being applied to the skin. (Some examples of carrier oils: Jojoba, Sunflower, Grapeseed, Rosehip Seed, Castor, and Avocado oils; gently liquified Coconut Oil, Shea, or Cocoa Butter can also work for creating thicker body care products.) Always test the diluted essential oil on a small patch of skin before applying more widely.

Maximum recommended dilution for adults: 3% (three drops per teaspoon of carrier oil). Use in moderation. Do not use during pregnancy or lactation.
