Oregano essential oil has a warm, sharp, herbaceous scent. It is considered a middle note for blending purposes.

Oregano oil contains notably powerful antimicrobial, antifungal, and antioxidant compounds, especially carvacrol and thymol. It is among the strongest natural alternatives to antibiotics and fungicidal medications. This essential oil also has pain-relieving properties, and interacts with progesterone receptors in ways that may help with hormonal balance.

Our essential oils are sold in amber glass bottles with a dropper orifice for drop-by-drop administration. Do not ingest essential oils unless under the guidance of a licensed health care practitioner or experienced aromatherapist. Essential oils should always be diluted in a carrier oil before being applied to the skin. (Some examples of carrier oils: Jojoba, Sunflower, Grapeseed, Rosehip Seed, Castor, and Avocado; gently liquified Coconut Oil, Shea, or Cocoa Butter can also work for creating thicker body care products.) Always test the diluted essential oil on a small patch of skin before applying more widely.

Maximum recommended dilution for adults topical use: 1% (one drop per teaspoon of carrier oil). Oregano essential oil is best avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and should not be used in baths.
