Bay Laurel essential oil has a spicy, camphorous scent. Aromatically it is considered a middle note.

The essential oil is known for its affinity for the eustachian tubes in the ears, and has been used topically to help alleviate ear infections and inflammation. It is often used as antiseptic, antibiotic, anti-neuralgic, anti-spasmodic, analgesic, astringent, cholagogue, emmenagogue, febrifuge, insecticide, sedative, stomachic, sudorific and tonic.

Bay Laurel essential oil is said to protect against sepsis, increase appetite, tighten gums and muscles, and help stop hair loss. Other applications of Bay essential oil have been for the treatment of hemorrhage, promotion of bile secretion, relief of obstructed menstruation, and reduction of fever. The essential oil also kills and repels insects, sedates inflammations and nervous afflictions, and is good for the stomach, while increasing perspiration and elimination of excess toxins in the body.

Our essential oils are sold in amber glass bottles with a dropper orifice for drop-by-drop administration. Do not ingest essential oils unless under the guidance of a licensed health care practitioner or experienced aromatherapist. Essential oils should always be diluted in a carrier oil before being applied to the skin. (Some examples of carrier oils: Jojoba, Sunflower, Grapeseed, Rosehip Seed, Castor, and Avocado; gently liquified Coconut Oil, Shea, or Cocoa Butter can also work for creating thicker body care products.) Always test the diluted essential oil on a small patch of skin before applying more widely.

Maximum recommended dilution for adults: 0.5% (one drops per 2 teaspoons of carrier oil). Use in moderation, and do not use in baths. Do not use during pregnancy, or on diseased or damaged skin.
