Geranium, Rose (Pelargonium graveolens), Essential Oil

EGYPT. Rose Geranium (Pelargonium graveolens var. roseum) Essential Oil

Geranium's scent is described as floral, sweet, spicy, and slightly herbal, much like that of Geranium, but with more of a rosy note. For blending purposes, it is considered a middle note.

Many users value Rose Geranium essential oil more highly than regular Geranium, due to its scent profile. Both oils can have a remarkably soothing effect for anxiety and depression, and have shown results in helping to heal some difficult-to-treat bacterial infections. They are valued as astringent and antimicrobial ingredients for blends addressing skin conditions including wrinkles and acne. They are also considered safe and effective for repelling fleas and ticks on pets, as well as people.

Our essential oils are sold in amber glass bottles with a dropper orifice for drop-by-drop administration. Do not ingest essential oils unless under the guidance of a licensed health care practitioner or experienced aromatherapist. Essential oils should always be diluted in a carrier oil before being applied to the skin. (Some examples of carrier oils: Jojoba, Sunflower, Grapeseed, Rosehip Seed, Castor, and Avocado; gently liquified Coconut Oil, Shea, or Cocoa Butter can also work for creating thicker body care products.) Always test the diluted essential oil on a small patch of skin before applying more widely.

The maximum recommended strength for topical use of Geranium essential oil is 17% (17 drops per teaspoon of carrier oil).
