Emily Pacheco, founder of Organic Botanicals, LLC, and Em’s Herbals, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Botanical Medicine and graduated in 2000 from the North American College of Botanical Medicine in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Emily received her Nurse’s Assistant Certification from the State of Washington in 2011. Her degree covers Western allopathic medical diagnosis and examination, pathophysiology, traditional Western herbalism, Ayurveda Medicine practices including pulse and tongue diagnosis, Chinese Medicine acupressure and chi meridians, Bach Flower Essences, Homeopathy, Aromatherapy, as well as several hands-on preceptorships, and clinical experience. Since 2000, Emily has taken classes in Anatomy and Physiology, Micobiology, and Chemistry. Incorporating her knowledge of anatomy and physiology, holistic medicine modalities, plant chemistry and a passion for plants in their natural environment allows Emily a unique perspective and approach.
In 2002 Emily started Living Earth Herbs, a retail herb and supplement store in Eugene, Oregon. In 2006 she moved back to her home town of Bellingham, Washington, and sold the store in 2008. In 2008 she went back to school to continue her studies in science and medicine, including Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, and Microbiology. From 2008 to 2017 she has dedicated her time to raising her family and using herbs to keep them healthy while continuing to study herbal medicine.
Multiple conferences, certificates, and continuing education classes have included Medicines from the Earth herbal conference, the Plant Healer’s Conference, a week-long intensive study and mentorship with Donald Yance and Chanchal Cabrera, the Breitenbush Herb Conference, certificate in Flower Essence course completion, course completion and certification in Aromatherapy, and a certificate in Ayurveda, among others.
Emily has studied medicine and plants for twenty years. She has used plants and supplements in her personal life, with family members, and to help many within her community. With a particular interest in natural pregnancy, home birth, postpartum care, and childcare, Organic Botanicals supports the family community. With personal experience with home birth, cesarean birth, and a natural birth after cesarean, she advocates for women in all arenas of the medical community and supports natural options whenever possible. Emily also has a particular interest in complementary medicine within oncology and has helped cancer patients survive their fight while including herb and supplemental support.
